Watch: ‘Angry Al’ presented to national audience

Angry Al, who became a familiar name among young riders in the Capital earlier this year, has been showcased to a national audience.

Angry Al was the central character of phase one of the #RideBetter social media campaign, launched by 2Wheels London to resonate with young riders and positively influence their decision making.

The campaign comprised eight films which encourage riders to use the roads in a manner that gives them the best chance of staying safer and avoid being involved in a collision.

In total, the films have been viewed approximately 140,000 times across various social media platforms.

On 12 November, Angry Al was presented to delegates at the 2019 National Road Safety Conference.

Organised by Road Safety GB, the two day conference (12-13 Nov) took place at the Telford International Centre – with around 320 road safety professionals attending.

Angry Al was presented by Debbie Huckle, honorary secretary of the London Road Safety Council and vice chair of the 2Wheels London stakeholder group.

Debbie is also team leader for safety and travel planning at the London Borough of Brent and has 18 years of experience working in road safety – and a keen interest in motorcycle safety.

Debbie’s presentation formed part of the ‘speed dating’ session at National Conference – a series of quick fire presentations by road safety practitioners, outlining schemes and interventions they are implementing.
